Sometimes there are people seem to be solo workers but they are apart of a larger firm. I feel like I’m jumping through hoops when I have a go between.

I am able to get complex jobs completed at a very low cost.

I like that I've built up a solid profile of clients and new experiences within my niche. I went from a curriculum writer to an SEO Specialist in a very short amount of time. Much less than I would have spent in an agency or office setting. There are tons of opportunities on here.

Some clients try to undercut you and pay much less than you're worth or change the scope of work. I also get ghosted for payments occasionally. It's frustrating but if I put the time in upfront to get to know the client and not rush into the contract this is much less likely to happen. I've also had the scope of work changed up on me without warning on a flat-rate project and then I'm at the mercy of the client to get paid for my work.

I'm gainfully employed by people all over the world. I've realized that you can steer your own learning and experiences. I chose to move from copywriting from SEO. Nobody chose that for me and I wasn't forced because the agency only had a few options or my boss needed me to. Upwork allows you to choose your path of growth in your career unlike any other. I even meet non-Upwork clients in real life and tell them about what I've done on Upwork and I've gotten work from that.

As the creator/producer of Beacon College's TV show, "A World of Difference," I'm working within the limited budget constraints of a nonprofit school broadcasting a national-focused show from a local public access TV station. That means when I'm covering national stories I have to rely on freelancers to video and interview my subjects. Upwork has connected me with talented and cost-sensitive talent who have delivered quality work for my broadcast purposes.

Only that I wish more freelancers would join the platform.

I've been working through the Upwork platform since late 2011 and all I can say is they're the place to go if you're serious about finding great clients and interesting projects. I like how the platform is designed to attract and retain clients and create long-lasting business relationships.

As in any other online business, some people are scammers and try to get you out of the platform or make you work for free, but Upwork has a great compliance team to investigate these type of behaviors.

I am solving my clients' problems by delivering the work they need and help them achieve their business goals. On the other hand, I am also getting financial benefits and putting food on my table and a roof over my head. I live off-the-grid and I am building my own house thanks to my Upwork earnings.

I have no problems with Upwork. It can be a little tiring to go through so many applications. So any work that can be done to match me up easier with relevant talent would always be appreciated, but it's not a big problem.

I have many tasks and projects that I need to complete as a business owner which I do not have the skillset to do. Also, I need to be conscious of cost. Upwork helps me address those items effectively.

There should be some criteria and time frame set for concluding on a job post. Some times clients post jobs and let that open even after interviewing.

I dislike the upwork app as most of the time i see messenger is showing "waiting to connect"

Everything is fair. If you are good at what you do you will the first offer...you will get lots of offers, everything else is up to you. Upwork will provide you with a flow of orders and fair rules of the game.

I don't understand how Marketing effectiveness works (in my Stats section). I want to be viewed more often than less often but I don't understand how to reach this. What factors are crucial?
