ClickUp is packed with a variety of features designed to enhance productivity and streamline project management. Here are some of its core features:
ClickUp offers a variety of pricing plans to cater to different user needs. Here’s a breakdown of their tiered pricing structure:
Plan | Starting Monthly Price | Max. Number of Users | Key Features |

The Business and Business Plus plans offer advanced features and increased automation, making them suitable for larger teams or businesses with complex project management needs.

Software | Starting Monthly Price | Free Trial | Time Tracking | Budgeting Tools | Task Display Views | Real-Time Chat | In-App Video Recording |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
ClickUp | $5 per user | Yes | Yes | Yes | List, board, timeline, calendar, box, Gantt, activity, mind maps, workloads, table, map | Yes | Yes |
monday.com | $8 per user (three user minimum) | Yes, 14 days | Yes | Yes | Board, timeline, Gantt, calendar, list, files, map, chart | No | No |
Trello | $5 per user | Yes, 14 days | No | No | List, board, calendar, timeline, table, dashboard, map, workspace table, workspace calendar | No | No |
Asana | $10.99 per user | Yes, 30 days | No | No | List, board, timeline, calendar, progress, forms, table, map | No | No |
As you can see, each tool has its own strengths and weaknesses. ClickUp stands out for its wide range of task display views, real-time chat, and in-app video recording features. However, other tools like monday.com and Asana also offer robust features, although they lack real-time chat and in-app video recording. Trello, on the other hand, is a more budget-friendly option, but it lacks time tracking and budgeting tools.
Absolutely! ClickUp’s free plan is indeed free, with no hidden costs or strings attached. This plan offers a robust set of features including unlimited tasks, unlimited members, and up to 100MB of storage. It’s a great option for individuals or small teams who are just getting started with project management software.
While the free plan does have some limitations compared to the paid plans (such as storage limits and access to premium features), it still provides a comprehensive toolset for managing tasks and projects. So, you can definitely start using ClickUp for free and then decide if you want to upgrade to a paid plan as your needs grow.
Project management software is a digital tool that helps teams plan, organize, and manage tasks. It facilitates collaboration, scheduling, resource allocation, and progress tracking, making project execution more efficient and streamlined.
ClickUp is a robust and versatile project management tool that can significantly benefit businesses of all sizes. Its comprehensive features for task management, collaboration, and project tracking make it an excellent choice for teams aiming to streamline their workflows and enhance productivity. While it has a rich feature set, it’s designed with user-friendliness in mind, making it accessible even to those new to project management software.
ClickUp takes care of most of my needs to run projects efficiently. Instead of using different services, I can use ClickUp for project management, time tracking, issues, documentation, and time reports for invoices. As well, recent upgrades are making the user experience more enjoyable and faster.
The attachments and video system should employ better security, and it can be slow or glitchy at times although that has improved. Time sheet reports are not particulary structured well, it could use some work to make these reports more valuable to client invoices.
Integration of all these services and needs in one place. I can manage multiple clients with ease, something that most other products do not offer or did not do a good job of when I was looking for products.
It helps to set my tasks. Structure all lists and manage the projects.
But sometimes notifications don't work correctly.
Sorting my tasks and help to controle them
I like the dashboards that gives me an overview of all my financials, so I can keep a track of my pipeline
There are a few equations that it can't do which is a bit frustrating but not the end of the world, plus it would be usefult o be able to add totals to the bottom of more columns.
Quotes and fee management, i measure my pipeline with the software, this shows me how how busy i am or whether I need to win more work, i can see my average fee and as such shows me shoudl I be winnign higher paid work.
I would like to share its archive feature in clickup, also you can create the list of the task, you can categorise open, close, and current working task with proper manner.
I think you can origanize close task by date.
organise list of the tasks.
Being able to track assignments and deadlines no matter what device I'm using.
I have yet to find anything about ClickUp that I dislike.
I work at a small nonprofit where I wear many hats. ClickUp allows me to segment assignments, manage my calendar, and make sure nothing is missed.
Clean design and ease of use. Plenty of features included in the free plan. Can be used for many other things besides task management.
There are surprising limits on things like custom fields, automations, exports, etc. even in the paid plans. Very LOW limits.
As a CRM, ClickUp is as good as any other platform - immediate notification allows our employees to process clients quickly and without errors. As a work managing tool, it makes remote work easy for both management and employees.
Easy to learn. Good notification system. Multiple ways of sorting and grouping tasks. Time-saving via automation and filtering. Dashboard system allows seeing weekly and monthly data on demand.
Missing a few task management models. Automation may feel like they are missing a few operations. Log systems feels complete however ignores some operations. Lack of visial customization options may limit the benefit of some built in systems.
Creates a unified task recording system for those who perform the same task on multiple platforms. Allows tracking tasks that are supposed to start after a specific time and/or end before a specific time. Allows progress tracking of task stages that are performed by multiple departments. Creates a platform to document events that are performed outside a digital platform.
Versatility (it's a versatile platform that can be customised to suit various workflows and work styles); Task Management (it provides robust task management capabilities, including the ability to create tasks, set due dates, etc.); Customization (it allows you to customize workspaces, views, and statuses to fit your specific needs); Multiple Views (it offers multiple views, such as List, Board, Calendar, and Gantt chart views, allowing you to choose the format that works best for your project); Collaboration (it promotes collaboration through features like comments, task mentions, and real-time editing); Integration (it integrates with a wide range of third-party tools and services, including popular apps like Slack, Google Drive, Trello, etc); Time Tracking (it offers time tracking capabilities, allowing you to record the time you spend on tasks and projects); Goal Setting and OKRs (this one is amazing because it provides features for setting goals and tracking Key Results); Task Automation; Reporting and Analytics (it offers reporting and analytics tools to help you gain insights into your team's performance, project progress, and workload distribution, as well as dashboards to visualise data).
The mobile app still needs some improvement. The docs could contain stats about the docs shared (such as gamma.app and tome do). There could be templates for creating spaces for teachers and shools.
Goal Tracking: it helps me set and track goals and Key Results, aligning teams with strategic objectives; as well as Task and Project Organization: I can organise my tasks and projects more efficiently, which reduces the risk of tasks falling through the cracks and I get to be more organised.
What we like the most about ClickUp is the ability to have an all-in-one solution for our needs. We no longer have to find wiki pages in Confluence, engineering tickets in Jira or tables/lists in Notion. All that while managing the users in one place and reducing our costs.
Loading times are notoriously long on certain items, but if what has been demonstrated during past events is true, V3 should take care of that. Another thing that is not the best is not having centralized places for all your files; again, V3 should solve that.
ClickUp helps us by having our customer requirements in one place. It also allows us to add our customers as guests and give them visibility into their projects. We no longer have to update them manually; they get notified as important tasks move throughout their workflow.
Integration with various applicatons and how versitile the platform is.
The shortkeys are funtioning outside Cllickup. For example I am using my browser and press Ctrl+J than Clickup will activate, which is a bit annoying.
This platform provdes me everything for my project managenent and colloboration, and helps in orginizing my work.
I love the ClickUp help deks template. I have adapted this to my consulting business. I can now track and record job information in one place and link emails and documents together in an easy-to-find location. I am also looking and automating some business processes so that Clickup can send requests to clients for information on regular time frames without me remembering to do it.
I feel the layout can be improved; ClickUp has so many features, and it's hard to find them; I constantly have to search up where something is as the menus are not intuitive. I would love to see more integrations and make more datatype available to zapier
I struggled with a way to track client requests and where I was with each project, I was constantly searching for emails and files for each task or job I was working on. Now I am using the Clickup Help Tesk Ticket template; I can store each job, all related files and emails, and all my notes in a single area so I constantly know what I need to work on and what point am at in the project. I am building processes and automation to remove mundane and repetitive tasks from my daily routine.
I love the ease of use of ClickUp. They have an excellent knowledge base when I need to know how to do something, and customer support answers questions, not just a canned response...it makes me feel like they read the issue as I sent it.
I haven't found anything I truly dislike about ClickUp. I can find the answers if I need to know how to do something. If I need to make a board, I can find just the layouts I need or want to use.
So ClickUp allows me to have all the tasks, assets and workflows for my business in one place. I can make a space for my digital assets, like graphics, a link to the file location. I can track client work and meet deadlines. I can keep track of my social media posts and make sure I don't duplicate stuff.
User-friendly and highly customizable, making it a versatile tool for managing various projects and workflows. Ability to handle complex project management needs for teams of all sizes. Some of the best features of Clickup include its customisable task views, collaboration and communication tools.
The onboarding process can appear overwhelming, with a steep learning curve. Occasional glitches or bugs, which means having to reload or endure a delay in getting back to managing my tasks.
Improved productivity through an overview of project progress and each task's visibility and organization visible for effective collaboration and communication.
The most helpful thing about ClickUp is the amount of flexibility and customization. It makes collaboration a breeze, and the amount of integration it offers is why it truly does all the things.
Right now ClickUp does not have the ability to create subfolders (folders inside of folders), I have high hopes that this feature will be added soon, maybe even in the upcoming 3.0. release.
Time tracking across multiple projects through out a work day.
Using ClickUp has helped me take my scattered thoughts that usually would end up on sticky notes or lots of different journals to have one place where I can put all of my ideas or tasks + all the details for them.
There have definitely been some sustainability issues where things have disappeared on me when I'm typing up long-format content such as a blog post. But this has been over 6 months ago and have not seen it since. I'm very hopeful with 3.0 this issue will be fixed.
I have benefited using Clickup by able to see everything in one place to wrap my arms around the fullness of a project and then break it up into smaller pieces and goals.
I enjoy ClickUp's ease of use across all functions. They have made switching from a different project management software a simple process. After using Asana, Notion, Monday, Jira, and Basecamp, ClickUp offers the best overall experience and value for my business.
Before the ClickUp 3.0 announcement that this has been fixed, I would dislike the need to refresh ClickUp to view any changes. You weren't able to view real-time changes. Now, with ClickUp 3.0, this seems to have been addressed.
ClickUp offers a simple, customizable product that allows my team to work collaboratively on client projects. I especially enjoy how our internal team leaves notes, shares files, and creates docs within a specific client project. The ability to share a project externally with a client has saved us time receiving client feedback.
I love the collaboration and work visibility features. Our team works effectively in producing creative, collaborative, and timely projects. The look and feel of the layout are excellent. Very user-friendly.
Nothing comes to mind. I would like to see more personalization features. Maybe new integrations would be helpful as well. Fewer abstractions to allow more work visibility perhaps.
With the ClickUp and Slack integration, our team never misses a notification. The integration allows for projects to flow exponentially. We are able to keep track of a projects development without stopping what we are currently doing.
Everything!!! Mostly what I like is that I can find all functionalities whenever I need them. I'm also very happy with the fact that it runs sumultaneously on my computer and my phone so when I forget to disable the timer, I can do it on the go. Some of the really great features are the fleixibility of statuses, the automations, the ability to create numerous templates, the data segmentation within spaces, the guest users and the fact that I can bring external users and share data while keeping the rest of the data secure, the lineupe - this is extremely useful!!! So yes, it's the most amazing tool I've ever used when it comes to project management, productivity, task management and the like.
I can't generate reports based on the notes that I've left in each of the tracked times within a single task or subtasks so I need to break it down in individual tasks/subtasks and sometimes that's not really necessary.
It keeps me organized and up to date. The lineup is the most used feature - we look at all the tasks for the day and we create our own lineups for the day and everyone can see who has done what in real time. We've also set up dependancies on tasks/list templates so we get alerted when a dependency has not been met and this is extremely useful for me as we sometimes need to manage clients with irregular patterns. Tracking time, real-time communication between colleagues, very easy-to-use interface.
ClickUp has completely changed my level of productivity and project awareness. After setting it up for my work and falling in love, I now have a personal Space set up as well! Tracking workload, schedule creation, and accounting have all been streamlined. I especially love that each user can choose how they would prefer to view data!
It's really difficult to integrate with Slack, which has been a disappointment and I wish certain tools explained what they were when hovering over them - there are so many features that sometimes I'll forget what things do.
Ensuring projects are evenly distributed amongst our work force.
Being able to create various work spaces for each business or project and adding different teams to each respective work space. This includes the ability to publicly share certain tasks for client review.
ClickUp is an intricate platform with user defined layouts that causes anxiety for first time users. So the introduction to new teams and clients requires somewhat of a workshop to get started.
The ability to focus the entire team in a single workspace with the added benefit of incorporating Google sheets and docs as an extension to the tasks in their most simplest form is phenomenal!
