A lot of what I need to do works out of the box, but for those things that I need to find a work-around for there are plenty of suggestions and 'hacks' when I Google, so I'm not finding as many limitations as I thought there were when I first started using 'Online' vs 'OnPrem'.
The online version does not hook in with our org structure so I am limited just to direct line managers, I cannot use the online platform for escalating above line managers.
Mainly we are ridding the office of paper. All of our basic forms like business card requests and even travel requests have moved to Nintex forms which means we always have a copy of them and know exactly where they are, and we don't have paper going around the office. Even some of our more complex forms are filling gaps for our more sophisticated systems that are too expensive to change.
Our organization has used Nintex Workflow for Sharepoint for many years. It allows us to use it for everything – from basic functions to highly customizable processes. The interface allows for quick development of entire workflows. The ability to schedule workflows is extremely useful. It allows to create processes to be repeated at scheduled times. Another leading feature is the delegation feature. This allows our users to delegate a task or a series of tests to another user during a single occurrence or a schedule absence. The user is in complete control of their delegations. The software is very stable and we rarely need support but in those few instances that we do, we always receive excellent support and guidance. There are a number of features that are extremely useful. Excellent product with excellent support staff!!!
I have been using the product for our organization for many years now, and I cannot think of anything that we do not like about this product. As you learn how to use the product well, everything can be accomplished well with it.
Our organization often has many often has many approval steps and this allows our users to efficiently track the status of their items and where they are in the approval process.
The ease of usability! and the way you can deploy and just go ahead!
Nothing as of now! not really sure is there's anything!
Quite of few benefits, working on critical business requirements
How easy it is to create workflows. Workflow Designer allows non developers easy way to create workflows.
PDF conversion feature is limited. Should support other file formats. Would like to see conversion process use metadata of source document instead of having to add metadata after the conversion the process in another workflow action.
Turning manual processes into automated processes, which resulted in time savings.
Reduction of paper, accountability, live status.
We had to pay a premium for a little custom code and at the time of the project there was not a native scheduler yet.
Inspection forms and internal audit forms are automated. The ROI paid for the cost of the projects in less than a year.
How easy it was to set up a flow of things.
This area is not applicable. I do not believe there is an area within Nintex Workflow Platform that would need any changes made to it.
N/A
Simple GUI and drag and drop functionality makes it easy to get a workflow up and running for even inexperienced users..
The Nintex O365 platform is not as fully featured as the On-Premise offering and has some minor issued and bugs.
Automating repetitive business processes, increasing productivity and time spent emailing / sharing documents etc
Interface, form creation, mobile capability
No support for parsing multi select columns in sharepoint
Form automation
The flexibility with the types of conditions and actions that you can implement in various types of apps including lists, libraries, calendars, etc.
The learning curve to create more complex workflows.
I have successfully been able to get most people out of using excel and email to track projects they are working on. I have been able to move excel sheets to lists with workflows attached and automate reports and approvals across the company.
Ease of use for creating workflows, and troubleshooting workflow instance problems
If the servers are heavily taxed, sometimes workflow instances will fail
We very heavily use Nintex for business automation - from Purchasing to facilities requests to simple email notifications
Lot of feature to automate business, user friendly environment to design and work with workflows
complexity in document generation, need complete documentation to understand
multilevel approval workflows designed using Nintex and ran SQL stored procedures in workflows
Drag and drop actions, easy to manage workflows
Complexity, when a large workflow is created it creates complexity in term of viewing and understanding the worklfow
Business process workflows, Process Automation
I love the flexibility Nintex offers with their low-code no code workflow configuration.
When workflows error, they don't notify anyone out of the box.
Automating processes left and right - a huge time-saver for all departments!
Flexibility in capabilities. Can be simple or powerful, and you can get creative with the solutions you come up with to fit the need. I like that the support forums are active should assistance be needed.
Better documentation is needed in regards to examples for common needs. Sometimes, a hack-like workaround is needed to get it to do what you need it to do.
Gained efficiency over manual entry. Freed up a lot of time for users to think about things that matter.
I love the GUI of the workflows. They are simple and easy to follow. Additionally I love all the applets that come with it. Small things like being able to update items cross site easily is fantastic.
Same thing as what you like best. Sometimes I feel like they could develop out more applets that can provide even more capabilities to automate processes
mainly automating out sending notifications and tasks.
It is simple. And actions can be configured easily. Reusable
Unable to Search any particular user name or content
Email notifications , list updating.
Best workflow platform to work for end user.
Everything looks good as of now for end user.
Document approval system in office.
There aren't many products that meet the expectations of their sales and marketing material. Nintex is one of those that the product works as well as one could hope. Intuitive web-based interface, easy to train others, and easy to learn. Updates and patching are super easy.
Very minor bugs found in workflow, but usually get fixed with the continual updates coming out.
Sales contract negotiation workflow. Over 50 steps.
I like how the tools are user friendly for those without much coding experience. If you want to insert a person's name into a nintex workflow email generator, you find the part that is clearly labeled to do so and then drag and drop (mostly). I've built some very useful workflows in nintex that impressed everyone, and I basically learned as I went. the tools are wonderful
Sometimes a workflow will look like it's working, but then I'm told it's running like 1000 times in the background and slowing the server down. better diagnosis tools to tell me WHY something isn't working would be helpful other than a simplistic "error occurred" warning.
I've been able to take what was 5-7 steps and reduce them down to 1. It not only saves my time, but also eliminates the possibility that I'd forget one of those many steps and cause further cascading issues.
Easy to learn & create complex workflows. Easy to reuse existing workflows for the new requirement. Easy to debug workflows, Easy to import and export. Graphical view explains the entire flow in one go, you really don't have to follow the requirement document.
1- Nintex support team doesn't respond on time. most of the time they refer to the article from Nintex blogs which we have already gone through. I believe that support can be much more better. 2- I still don't have confidence with Nintex DB in case of moving them, so still there is some hidden information or not explained it well. i request Nintex team to write some good articles about Nintex backup and restore and explain multiple scenarios.
1- Almost all business/departments are using Nintex workflow to automate their business process. 2- Simple workflow are getting created by business, so they don't have to wait for IT to create their process automate. 3- Time to create workflow is not too much, so business doesn't have to pay much to IT. 4- Reusability is good, so we save our lot of time to not to rewrite the same set of activity. 5- UDA (user define actions) are also a best part of Nintex.
