The interface, ability to create boards, organize data, comment and collaborate.
Though I don't have any dislikes, I would say there are times where it might feel a little limited.
All of our teams use it to escalate issues and keep track of accounts.
Very intuitive, great support for collaboration in real time.
Needs more comprehensive control over views / permissions when adding guests to collaborate on items. Needs to integrate support for new features (such as the newly added subitems) across all elements before launching (e.g. subitems not supported on Dashboards rendering them useless for summarising).
Clarity of ownership and tracking of progress. Improving team communication and collaboration.
Monday has SO much power for organisation and planning - we are a bit awed by it. It is pretty instinctive and fun to use and allows for all sorts of different ways of arranging, tracking, nudging and monitoring. The support information is fab and there is almost always a short video or help note on the very thing you want to do. The integrations are good and improving and the little bespoke things that you can automate are great.
Not dislike - just the power of the tools means that it takes a bit of time to really get to grips with it. We were off the blocks and using it almost immediately - but with the benefit of a bit of hindsight might have done a few things differently in setting up boards etc. More about us than about Monday
As Chief Exec, I have to keep my eyes on a lot of spinning plates. I am often keen to understand and drive progress in projects or tasks that my team are responsible for and Monday helps me to do this without confusing ownership or getting too involved in the details. The team keep control of their own items and it is easy to update and share news. The integration with outlook has meant that I can send things that I want to track to my board straight from my inbox. This is really helpful and saves time and double handling.
It is very user friendly. Easy to understand and maneuver. Has some cool features, such as real time dashboards that update on the spot.
There are some simple actions that are not the easiest to do. For example moving columns around in a board could be cumbersome, as well as making the same modification to like columns, there was no quick copy and paste feature. But Monday.com is always looking to improve, so I can expect it to find solutions to these issues in the not too distant future. The biggest disappointment was that it was not an ideal system for collecting large amounts of data. We needed to collect 20k rows of data per month in a single board, and Monday.com is not set up to work that way currently.
Currently we are learning how to use Monday.com for what it is intended for> project/task management. It is a great tool for that purpose, so one can easily see where we are in different projects and who has what tasks, and how long it is taking to complete these tasks.
with complex implementations, monday is the place that we keep everything together. I love having checklists to mark off and tracking progress across the team to hold each other accountable. We depend on it on a daily basis!
Sometimes sections don't update as quickly as I'd hope, but for the most part I have no complaints :)
Managing all the parts of software implementation in one spot. From Client testing, user feedback, API Integration, monday is the place for it all!
Upside - helpful to track documents across time. I like that you can insert checkboxes and subsections. Helpful that you can "tag" people and they are notified via email.
Downside... hard to say. It would be nice to be able to rag and drop content.
Time management is a huge help. We can set deadlines and visually track progress.
The ease of use and user-friendliness of the program are great. It is easy to set up tasks, organize groups, assign tasks, track deliverables and stay on top of everything.
It can become a little cumbersome the more you dig into it.
We were using a different task management/organization software that was very robust but was not user-friendly and was not widely adopted. Monday solves our organizational problem and is very user-friendly which has led to broad adoption.
I like the flexibility and customization
I don't understand the notifications very well
Keeps track of all the to-dos of many projects
i like the fact that it is customizable
the interface can get over powering at times
Project management, allocation and tracking progress on multiple projects being run simultaneously
It's very straight forward, clean design, customizable but not too much. We use it slightly differently for our needs but it suits us well.
Wish that there were better notification controls...i.e. setting a snooze time period so you're not blasted whilst not on the clock. It could LOOK better but it's not ugly. It's just very simple.
general task management. Tracking how many tasks are done per project to see what is taking up the most bandwidth...to then analyze and see if priorities are being neglected and vice versa.
My favorite part about Monday.com is the layout. It can basically be set up as a fancy excel sheet which people can then comment and have conversations on. I really enjoy the status columns and how we are able to customize them. Currently we use this as our promo calendar for multiple properties and it keeps everything in one spot nice and organized.
I dislike the fact that currently you cannot upload an exel doc into an existing board. You can only upload an excel do into a new board. We are figuring out a way to use zapier to make the needed connections as we update the document frequently ant it would simplify our process if we could just upload into a current board.
We are solving our problem of a promo calendar with interactivity. The ability of a status box is much cleaner and simpler for our team to update than an excel doc with multiple colors, fonts etc. This is allowing us to keep everything in one place and everything on the same page. The time tracking function is also useful as it attached to a specific task as opposed to using a different program all together.
It is really nice to help keep yourself and your team organized for any upcoming projects that you might be working on.
You have to be use to using it or else you will forget to update your status etc.
We wanted to use Monday.com as a way to keep track of the different events that we have going on and that we are in charge of. It has helped each person become accountable for the different things that they have to do.
It's nice to have a program that you can share your project timeline and logistics with others.
Some things you can do on the web that you can't don on your table or mobile device.
As our company grows, the more work comes our way. So we needed something that could help keep us on track.
Depending on which version or tier of the platform you’re using is how many features you can use. Even at its most basic it’s amazing. You can decide tasks to boards or sections or even data sets (like names and info) and assign them to folks and track progress on each data set (also called a row). There were lots of ways you could customize the view and organize your data. It works for so many styles. As long as you commit to using this and maintaining it, it’s a huge asset for me team.
I think just the pricing tiers. You really can get a full grasp of what the platform can do for you because as you’re trying to stretch it and see you hit another paywall. I will say they have super helpful training videos.
I used this platform at me last job and we used it from everything from recruitment, grant project tracking, grant proposal layout, and weekly assignments.
The interface is clean, easy to use, not too much clutter, very customizable. Their product teams seems to be continuously improving the software, so it will likely keep getting better as they continue to get feedback.
Board organization can get a little messy if you don't have a good process set in place. Decide on how you want to organize your projects first before adding anything, and it should be easier to manage that way.
It makes project management clean and easy to keep track of. It is probably more geared towards non-creative marketers, as it's built more like a spreadsheet, and less like a blank paper. The tagging feature is nice, but if you look at a notification once and forget it, it can be hard to go digging for it again.
Easy to use and pick up on. We use it with clients and they usually understand what's going on right away.
It's hard to find timers. Tasks are sometimes hard to find.
Marketing campaign tasks. Client interactions. Accountability. Time Tracking
Monday.com has a great user platform that is colorful, and functional.
I wish it were easier to copy and move selections to other boards (a bit like excel copy/paste functionality would be great!)
Tracking projects and now seeing better what stages other departments are on.
Monday is user friendly, keeps tasks organized, holds users accountable.
Team has to be all in on Monday. If users do not keep up to pace on Monday or if there are too many tasks on the site, it can be easy to stop using it and get bogged down in all the tasks.
Keeping track of all tasks, keeping them organized, and making sure they are done on time. It also helps to see what other people are working on.
The ability to organize tasks from data sets to project management makes use of this software very easy. I am able to keep track of projects and employment details such as onboarding tracking.
Does take a bit of getting used to and has some limitations. Have to build out automations.
Onboarding tracking, new hire tracking and project management.
Monday is a very intuitive tool which allows easy monitoring and updating of work projects. It looks clean and is clean and easy to use
If you have a lot of boards on the go it can be a bit overwhelming to manage them but this is probably just more reflective of a heavy workload being stressful rather than the tool itself having any major shortcomings
Heavy workloads are made somewhat lighter and easier to at least keep track of with Monday.com
