Ease of HR function. Less time with paper files. Hiring is much easier; tracking of applicants, open positions, etc.
BambooHR has been a one-stop shop for all of our HRIS needs. We are able to track the employee's lifecycle from beginning to end. The best part is how many integrations BambooHR has. We're able to integrate our other platforms through BambooHR which not only same time but also money.
I wish there was more functionality and ease of customization. It can be a pain to ping support every time we want a custom field added. I would like to see BambooHR update their platform within the next year and make a lot of things simpler to use.

Bamboo helps me to stay updated on whats happening within the organisation so that i dont miss out on any fun activity or essentail information. It is intergrated to various apps that we use within our organisation such as emails, internal communcation apps, salesforce, IT helpdesk. Thus, it comes in handy incase you are logging in remotely. It helps you to give third party application their own access key and you can share the same with your coworkers. The interface is very easy to navigate and understand if you are a new user.
There is no option for customization of the app. you can not select your preferred color or layout, which I feel is a drawback. The tech support is not quite good, If you have any queries, you won't find a quick response from the customer care team.
It gives me access to the employee directory, provides a lot of information, such as employee ID, Team details, report manager information, contact details which comes very handy especially when you need to coordinate with multiple colleagues for projects. All the essentail documents such training, onboarding files, performance appriasal files can you access quickly via bamboo app.
As a sales employee at a SaaS company, I need software that efficiently manages my HR documents and Time & Attendance, so I can focus on more important things, like my quota. BambooHR does this. BambooHR offers a centralized, easy way to manage all of this, making my life easier!!
Payroll is typically a separate software that isn't within the BambooHR platform. You have to use two systems for that, which could be a deal-breaker for some companies who want everything in one place.
I'm trying to manage my benefits, HR documents, compliance, and PTO within BambooHR. It's relatively easy to do this and allows me to reference things related to my employment easily.

BambooHR solves the problem of management alloted and scheduled time off for employees. Additionally, the mobile app helps employees keep in touch outside of the office with a staff directory.
Having one system of records that is user-friendly and highly customizable with excellent reports.
We are still implementing and so far I have not found any negatives.

System support for tasks, saving documents for employees in the system, everything seems so easy.
The interface is user-friendly and intuitive, looks nice and inviting. Having so many processes automated that allow for fully electronic work flows is a game-changer for any HR department that has been using paper or a hybrid process. This includes the onboarding flows, time off approval and tracking, compensation flows, and data reporting. The manager and employee self-service aspects saves time and errors. I also really like the ability to use this as a central communication vehicle for employees, almost like an "intranet lite". A way to share news and updates as well as centralized forms and resources.
I found that I still needed a separate ATS in order to get the functionality and features I wanted. I also had not completely figure out if I could use Bamboo HR effectively to manage and track the continuous feedback and development conversations necessary throughout the year in a high growth, matrixed, dynamic environment.
With teams in the US, India, and the UK, I needed a centralized HRIS that would allow me to analyze data from across all locations. It also solved for the inefficiencies of paper based processes, getting approvals, and keeping stakeholders on the same page. Bamboo HR eliminated nearly all of the friction in those processes. I was also looking to solve for the speed of communication. As we scaled the organization, it became harder to keep everyone up to date with all of the initiatives and customer acquisitions that would allow for better preparation of all departments. Bamboo HR took care of that by providing a vehicle for announcements of new customers, or announcing when customers were in the office so those functions that needed to interface with them were not caught unaware. Those are just a few examples of how Bamboo HR helped us run the business and not just provided us with an HRIS.
I love that it's user-friendly, has great reporting capability and the whole company uses it.
Can't edit documents when setting up signatures.
BambooHR let's the People team empower our entire employee base to find answers themselves, instead of asking us all of the time. If someone wants to know how many vacation days left they have, they can find it themselves. It also helps keep us all accountable to onboarding and offboarding tasks that need to be completed.
Easy to use and navigate user interface makes it easy to review and request paid time off, upcoming company holidays, a "whose out" calendar for colleagues, and keep your HR data up to date, SSO integration.
No major downsides that I can recall that impact usability greatly.
A single repository for all HR related items.
The most useful feature is teh 'Org Chart', where one can see all of the members of the organisation with pictures in an organigramm. It's super helpful especially when one is new at the job and can't memorise all the names, roles and faces. There is another feature where you can see who is out of the office and until when in one view. It has mobile version as well.
I don't have any problem with it, it does the job.
Requesting holidays, sick leaves, home office days etc. Check wether a colleague is out of office or not.
The ability to integrate other systems such as payroll, Microsoft office and other planning tools with Bamboo makes it very easy to pull any necessary personal information, especially planned PTO to other systems for informational or planning purposes. Everything relating to an employees personal information can all be set up to display in Bamboo including automated paystubs.
A more intuitive central dashboard for each user could be helpful. When first using the system, you have to click back and forth through tabs quite a bit to understand where different pieces are located. It would also be beneficial to allow end user or a company to customize the landing or main dashboard of the users in their company.
We are improving project staffing planning accuracy by being able to pull PTO information from Bamboo, this avoids needing to ask employees to record their planned PTO multiple times. Bamboo has additional features that we haven't used yet, such as applicant tracking that I think would be great additional features to take advantage of.

I love that it is simple. When you login there is a nice and neat user interface where you don’t feel overwhelmed.
It’s difficult to find documents that you have signed before - like your W-2.
Our company is able to easily track and display who is on vacation on a given day, it’s a convenient little feature!
I understand the semiannual alerts for performance appraisal and also the willingness of either the contractor and his peers to receive feedback. The method helps me to pick someone to privately assess another peer and give both support and incentives for change. The ability to PTO is also great, choosing a timeline and you'll see how quite enough PTO you would have on the said date, or direct report. It's great to plan and make sure that we don't have people who want to take 3 weeks of December holiday.
The limited apps that its mobile application provides make it tough to function on your mobile device because it does not encourage yourself to be quite as successful as while operating on the desktop edition. The market value is tough to sustain although as clients assimilate 3rd party devices, the cost begins to rise rapidly which helps to make you ultimately pay more of the plan's base price you've chosen, saying this you need to be very extra cautious, small business who have a limited schedule.
BambooHR has assisted us to better and more aptly organise our workers and everyones details. Everything that relates to employees lives through one position but is easy to locate. Workers have responsibilities for reviewing their records and performing their on-board and off-board duties.
BambooHR is an amazingly simple and clean HCM tool to support employees. It offers a wealth of employee information, manages the on-boarding process simply, and makes the off-boarding process very easy. The user interface is friendly and simple to pick up. Functionality is top notch compared to other HCM tools out there.
Editing capabilities can be easier to use. There are some things that can be edited and some things that can't. You would need to file a request to have the change improved. I believe this can be streamlined and made more efficient. The option to make changes to your profile more quickly without having to wait for a chain of approvals to be completed would be helpful.
BambooHR has helped us manage our employees and their information more efficiently and more succinctly. Everything employee related lives in one place and is easy to find. Employees are held accountable for updating their information and completing their on-boarding and off-boarding tasks.
I love the virtual time clock, one-stop-shop for PTO, Time Request Off, etc.
We use it for everything even signing internal contracts. No complaints.
