I like the ability to look at a glance and see who is approved to be out and who is not and how that help to make our daily and weekly game plans. As an employee user this is about all we use.
Had some issue with not being able to easily go into negative hours. Also notes are not easily seen by my manager. On several occasions I have written notes with my time off request and my manager does not see them. Unsure if this is user error or a fault of the app, but making the notes more prominent will probably help.
It is being used for time off management mostly. At least for my uses. I do not know what the management uses on the back end. I just know that for my purposes as an employee, the time off management works pretty well.
Integrates well with other systems we use including Greenhouse. Vacation scheduling is great.
Recently started using the onboarding function. Doesn't work well with our workflow but has some good functionality.
Storing HR information in one place. Ability to run reports. Vacation scheduling and tracking made much easier. Tracking of benefits, personal information, etc.
Bamboo makes it really easy to request and manage employees, time off, progress, benefits, and compensation.
I find Bamboo to be intuitive in most things, however the performance goals and assessment piece does not seem intuitive to me, nor does it really provide a meaningful way for me to grow from the assessment portion.
Managing Time Off Managing Benefits Managing Paperwork Managing updated employee demographics Managing Employee Use of company assets
I like that it is always evolving and improving. Its vey easy to use/learn.
That there ceetain things that you have to buy additional software and integrate it to the system.
Candidate tracking, onboarding
I was alerted through email if there was a task I needed to complete and that made it easy to remember.
Had some difficulty getting started, but once I changed browsers it worked.
It connects everyone through a single portal rather than through email.
I like that we can do all of our HR paperwork virtually. I also like that our Google log-in works seamlessly with Bamboo.
I don't know how much of this is the way we have it set up, but the interface for everything isn't super intuitive. The interface for looking for documents in the files, requesting time off, and especially the employee review process are not intuitive. The whole system feels homemade. We actually have homegrown software at our company and it is much slicker than Bamboo.
Our company uses it to do HR paperwork, store HR-related files for employees to review, manage time-off requests, and for our employee reviews.
I like the ease of setup for this application
Pretty simple compared to other options
Small company with no HR software in place
What I like best about Bamboo HR is its simple interface. It is both easy to navigate and user-friendly
What I dislike about Bamboo HR is that its features are not customizable for all of our needs
Bamboo allows us to resolve our issues with paperwork organization by ensuring we distribute all the appropriate paperwork/documents, and securing all the appropriate sognatures necessary.
The reporting feature is terrific. Very easy to navigate and self- learn.
Just a few custom fields had to be built for our unique company. Also, it seems they are biting off more than they can chew. We added the ATS recently and noticed a significant amount of promises made but very few promises kept. We've done several webinars with them and take away valuable information but when it comes time to do those things - it just doesn't work. There are NO capabilities to export or run reports on Applicant data. This is a huge disappointment for my team. We are now looking for a stand alone ATS to serve our needs.
We now store all employee data and documents in one location. Eliminated the need for other databases.
BambooHR includes the ability to set up processes that can be triggered when someone is hired or hits a particular milestone date. I'm not an HR professional, I manage employees so I am often assigned tasks automatically through BambooHR but I do not use it for reporting. However, its easy to see what I have outstanding and it is easy to mark the task done. I also use BambooHR as an employee for time off requests. It is easy to submit a request, and easy to see balances across different accrual buckets.
The UI can be difficult to find things in. This may be a result of my role and access, but I wish it were easier to see a calendar view of all my employees and when they are off over a given period of time.
Our company is a small firm, which means that its relatively easy to lose track of the HR process or to fail at properly tracking accruals. Its important that employees are given the vacation and time off they've earned, and its also important to be able to hold them accountable. A larger or more complex HRMS system would be more then we need. This allows us to track accruals, and automate the process of onboarding tasks.
Its a great tool for HR. Great features.
Some of the functionality could be made slightly easier to use.
Helps teams collaborate better with recruitment.
I like the ease of use with Bamboo and ease of navigation. As an HR Partner, I use Bamboo a lot for my own internal review and it's easy to peruse and easy to "fix" info that needs to be updated.
In our deployment, we cannot splice out Title and Job Profile names. For a startup, this is a challenge because Titling is preferred to describe the day-to-day, and we don't have a super deep job architecture.
Integration of compensation and payroll has been clutch. It is easy to navigate and fix things on the backend, which is crucial for a smaller organization like mine.
look, feel, ease of use, & access to reporting
it's minimal, especially when it comes to the Performance Review component
We primarily use BambooHR for workforce management - we now have a separate tool for performance reviews, and continue to use other tools for engagement surveys, payroll, benefits, etc.
simple, easy to use great candidate and employee management.
lack of features like managing endpoints, policies, documents, etc.
helped us to move out from manual trackers.
The system is quite simple an easy to use and is a good fit for small and mid sized companies that needs basic functionality that covers most needs you will have. There's also a really helpful library of videos to learn how to use and optimize the platform. This helps onboarding to a great extent. The platform also contains useful features such as engagement pusle checks that you in some cases need to pay a lot for if you would go for some of the larger competitors in the same space. Bamboo has invested in their design which makes it more enjoyable to use.
The main downside at the moment is the analytics capability that is weak so you need to extract data and do a lot of the analysis yourself. I also haven't been able to see any proof of AI capabilities and I haven't found an AI roadmap for the platform. I would definitely ask for this when considering an implementation as there are plug ins that would help you utilize the data but that would come with additional cost and data security cionsiderations.
It helps us to track absence, compensation, send and store agreements and other basic people admin needs. It also supports our performance management process and talent mapping initiatives. We are also considering to start using the platform for engagement data from next year.
The thing that I probably like most about BambooHR is the ability to organize employee information. I like being able to add specific employee fields as well as job titles, preferences, employee classes, etc.
There are a lot of bugs in BambooHR. There are simple things that HR needs that BambooHR does not provide, like the ability to report to multiple managers, a lot of things in benefits administration, as well as some unhelpful and frankly quite rude support heros. It is like they don't know what it is like to work for HR, and they are trying to put out materials to help HR. It is not working as well as it should!!
They have solved a big problem in making payroll easier for us. We used to use Quickbooks but having Trax integrated with BambooHR has streamlined things a lot for us. The hiring process is pretty straight forward, but I would like to see a more appealing and aesthetic onboarding process, as well as the ability to add more things to the new hire packet.
We like it that it has most of the essential HR-related tools and features. It is pretty user-friendly and intuitive. Covers more or less the entire hiring lifecycle.
Many of those features, especially ones implemented recently (i.e eNPS, time tracking etc) are not customizable and can't really be used as needed. ATS system is imperfect and requires a lot of improvements.
Hiring, Time Off tracking and requesting, eNPS. Onboarding, offboarding, storing documents. Been looking into a performance management tool - still about to set it up, but looks interesting
Customer services team is great, quick to reply, helpful
Limited space to customize certain aspects for example assessment questions in the Performance Management module.
reporting, managing the organizational structure
It is easy to track time off and see who is off on a particular day - especially with Working from home being a big part of the work life
I don't like that it tries to track salaries and whatnot. I'm sure there are settings to eliminate this
The biggest problem that we solved was being able to see who is on vacation. It makes our lives easier to simply click in and see everything we need to know. Additionally, it is nice having all our HR paperwork in one spot.
Its personalized with pictures and information about employees. For a large company this is a nice tool to have
At times I feel like its too large to navigate and to locate topics easily.
I love bucketlist. Work environments can become a negative place at times. Bucketlist adds positivity and allows employees to provide accolades.
