Oyster, so far, has delivered professional services accompained by a great knowledge base about the laws and the caveats of the country I was needed to be employed from. The onboarding has been a very pleasant experience also thanks to the kindness of the agents. I have to say to be happily surprised by the custom caare even after the onboarding: they alwaays replied in less than 24 hours and when there were concerns or difficualties, they have alwaays been professional and kind in offering all the needed support.
I think Oyster is a bit too strict on their timelines. The laack of flexibility regarding what can or cannot be done outside their dealines, may restrict some of the services they offer. Don't get me wrong: being very well organized it reduces the possibility of errors and/or problems but sometimes it is needed a human behind tha machine that is able to control and change the parameters of the management software they are using we it is about needs of other human beings.
With Oyster I have the possibility to be permanently employd from any company in the world by being able to work remotely from whatever country I decide tto esabliush an live for the whole duration of the contract.
Easy online platform that is not complicated. Email responses fairly prompt.
From a tax perspective i get medical tax credits at a set amount each month which Oysetr will not do meaning i must claim at the end of the tax year.
Being paid a salary from an Overseas company. They are assisting in doing that so that i get paid in my currency and do my tax.
I chose Oyster when an employee relocated overseas. They made the transition really easy, supporting me and our employees through the whole process. Everything has been really smooth ever since from approving time off and expenses to salary payments.

Moving from one country to another, nevermind one continent to another, has its logistical challenges. Oyster helped with the transition and provided peace of mind as they managed everything.
There were some hiccups regarding my eCard for social security, but it was resolved and all is well.

Some features are a little buggy, but reloading seems to help the issue. The pricing model can get a bit high after hiring more than 3 people. It would be nice to be able to have a team in one country for a set cost, instead of per employee each month.
Oyster ensures that employees in other countries have their legal needs met and are paid in their currency. This allows my HR team to spend less time researching laws to ensure we can hire and that the employee is treated fairly according to their location.
Oyster helps us to hire globally and helps to make our payroll processes as efficient as possible. It is so useful having all data be available in one place for easy access and if any updates need to be made. The Oyster team is always available for support should I encounter any issues.
It would be useful if some data could be changed directly by the user/administrator rather than needing to reach out to support (for example, if there are any salary deductions or changes).
It helps us hire globally and helps us to remain compliant worldwide! They also provide benefits directly to employees which cuts out some admin on our end.

I don't like how difficult it is to recharge for invoice. I wish there was an option that would let me pay manually.
I really needed a place to be able to pay contractors from other countries. Oyster does that easily
Oyster allows us to make the labour contracts with the workers, being in other locations.
When we have queries about payroll or invoices, the answers to the queries take some time which results in the invoices being approved automatically by Oyster without having answers to our queries. Invoices have a period to be approved by customers and often the waiting time for clarification of doubts is superior to the time given for the approval of the invoice.
Oyster is creating an integration with Expensify which is very beneficial for the customer, so that they are not manually entering expenses into the platform. In this way we avoid an unnecessary waste of time to complete this task. This is a simple task but in some months it took days to complete because the whole process was manual. The integraton is not completed yet, but we are getting the help that we need.
Oyster is very easy to work with. The Dashboard shows clearly which tasks are open and give you an overview of your company's current international contractors. Also the contractor's contract ensures that both the contractor and the company don't step into the trap of misclassification.
It would be nice if there were even more security steps for contractors to proof that they actually are legally allowed to work as a contractor. This would ptotect companys even more and make it even more attractive for companys to use Oyster.
Since contractors are employed at Oyster and get paid by Oyster it significantly reduces the risk of employee misclassification.
The ability to hire remote workers, and to be hired, with confidence, from anywhere in the world!
Currently, it is extremely hard to get hold of anyone, within a short timeframe to assist with a query or concern. As a South African, I do not know who is myu single point of contact.

The customer support team that we have through Oyster is top notch. They bring a breadth of knowledge to tell us make decision and on-board our talented teammates.
The turnaround time has been a bit of struggle. It'll typically take all of 24 hours to get a couple questions responded to/answered. For us, we're able to account for the delay but it can take well over a week to on-board.
We are able to on-board and use Oyster as an EOR for our talented teammates in Canada and EMEA.
Great flexibility with fantastic customer sort to enable businesses looking to scale.

I love being about to keep staff onboard who have moved outside of the United States. Oyster's system allows us to keep those people on team and continue to pay them without worrying about ensuring they get paid.
We were confused about how much we would pay for our employees and how much would go to the local company in the country. Also, the exchange rates between currencies made the process harder to manage.
We would have no idea how to manage employee staff outside the country. Alos, as a small organization, we don't have the resources or time to manage that. Oyster allows us to employ staff we would otherwise be unable to employ.
Simple solution, simple onboarding flow, many countries, guidelines for comp when needed, simple flow for validation requests (time off / expense), fast response time from support.
Not appropriate for complex organisation structures with multiple entities (the platform cannot manage parent organisations, if we want to invoice different entities, we need to create a new company profile each time), some local providers might be pretty slow with request processing (I have a poor experience with Spain), immigration and relocation services are a nightmare, invoicing not always clear (no details provided in the balance invoices).
Oyster helps us contract with talented people in places where we don't have local entities.
The team is good and friendly and always available to help
Several times, we had to point out issues more than one time to see them solved. We also experience some issues with payroll and the issues tends to be always the same.
We have hires in countries where we don't have an office and we hire our people through Oyster. The payroll and specificities of the country are also managed by Oyster together with our payroll team
The international pass for remote employees would be very helpful.
Making a trustworthy platform both for employers and job seekers. I think the employers are not prepared well to accept this platform yet.
