The customer service is based in the US and thus is quick to respond and normally very helpful.
The price isn't as competitive as I'd like and almost made us go with one of their competitors.
Their uptime is very good and this was the main issue we were having with our other hosting service.
We rarely have outages with them. They are usually relatively fast to address outages when we do have them. Often it's just a simple reboot required, but they are willing to troubleshoot with me.
When we signed up, we were sold a plan that didn't meet our needs and all of our sites dropped. It was a rough time for about a week, as we tried to do duct tape fixes, then ultimately switched to a higher plan. I wish that my needs would have been fully analyzed during the initial setup process, in order to avoid any outages.
I use Liquid Web Managed Hosting for personal sites and for B2B hosting of client sites under my care.
It's very easy to use. You can have a WordPress site running in just a couple of minutes.
It's slow outside the US. It has no support for continuous integration.
My clients use it for small WordPress-powered sites.
Liquid Web support is generally fairly responsive. Hosted sites are stable with minimal downtime that we've noticed.
The admin interface doesn't expose a whole lot in the way of functionality, and certain features such as Wildcard SSL certs aren't supported in the Cloud Sites product.
Providing centrally managed hosting for multiple customers with minimal difficulty.
My experience with Liquid Web have not been positive.
They purchased/merged with a company that we have used for years. The other company had great customer service, easy to contact and ask questions. Have not had that experience with Liquid Web. They are also changing services that we had and cause an increase in cost to us.
I have not realized benefits yet.
The price is competitive and the support is helpful.
They stopped offering PHP updates and were not very helpful when it came to help us migrated all of the website to their new platform
Wordpress hosting
Support was easy to get a hold of and their administrative interface is clean and easy to use.
Their technicians are negligent when it comes to managing the servers. They almost put us out of business multiple times. A few years ago when we were first starting off, we had a few managed servers, but didn't qualify for their enterprise support. One of our web servers suddenly went down and was un-reachable. Dealing with support for nearly an hour, they couldn't figure out what the issue was. After getting aggravated, I said "Can you please just go to the rack and check to make sure the server is physically there." About 15 minutes later they checked the rack and found out that the Ethernet cable had been disconnected from the NIC! Apparently somebody had been in there dismounting a server and accidentally unplugged the cable. Rather than admitting fault, support pinned the issue on us said said that we need to purchase ties to lock down the cables from coming out. That was just one out of the many issues we've had to deal with.
We are only using their service for a small shared server that is for internal use and has no live production data. It is a managed WHM/cPanel server which is extremely easy to work with. We recently upgraded the ram and HDD with the click of a button.
Their servers are not the fastest, their prices are higher than many of their competitors (they use introductory pricing), but I've stayed with them for 4+ years because they used to have excellent customer service. However, their customer service has deteriorated to the point I now consider Liquid Web one of the worst Web vendors,if not the worst, I've ever worked with. And that's from a career in the Fortune 500 with responsibility for well known brand websites and having my own sites too. I find that they've recently engaged in less than honest and ethical pricing practices with me. I can't find any positives to Liquid Web anymore. I would strongly recommend finding a different hosting company.
I've used Liquid Web for several years and customer Service Has went from excellent to unacceptably poor and they add on services and refuse to take off charges. Their support team took 4 weeks to migrate my existing sites on their VPS to a new upgraded VPS account. They asked the same questions over and over and it would take them days to ask the same question again. I can't help but wonder if they only engage in these practices to charge customers more money. I've been responsible for websites at large companies as well as my own websites for more than two decades, and Liquid Web stands out as one of the worst vendors, from customer support to questionable charges that I've ever experienced. At the beginning of last month, I ordered a new VPS to move my several websites hosting with Liquid Web on another VPS. It should have been simple and completed in no more than 72 hours. Instead, it took them one month, so I had to pay their high prices for two servers during that period, and then they added different charges that I'm presently disputing and their accounting team person is not friendly, just an authoritarian barking at me that they're going to be charging me no matter what. During the migration period, the migration team has been confused and not paid attention to my responses and what should have taken hours has turned into weeks and additional charges. The deterioration of the quality of customer support and the way customers are treated at Liquid Web is so dramatic, I can only guess that the company has experienced major management changes because the customer focus isn't there anymore, the ethics aren't there -- they're engaging in some very shady billing practices. The customer experience at Liquid Web simply doesn't seem remotely similar to what it was years ago and from what I'm reading in other reviews, my experiences are not rare. I strongly advise that people avoid Liquid Web. Their servers aren't very fast. Their customer support and customer experience is very poor. The engage in problematic practices, including adding on charges for services that I never ordered and then refuse to cancel those charges or even listen to the customer. A few years ago, I was recommending Liquid Web, but the company has dramatically changed for the worse and I can only recommend others avoid this company.
I use Liquid Web for hosting websites (VPS) and they've been supposed to be migrated websites to an upgraded VPS, but for two weeks they've done nothing and ask the same questions I've already answered over and over as they shuffle me from employee to employee and refuse to escalate my migration request. UPDATED: It's taken 4 weeks to migrate 5 websites from my prior VPS to my new VPS, and in the process, I stopped updates to all of the sites and found that one of them was hacked.
There haven't been any that I've experienced. Their interface has been confusing from the beginning. Perhaps the only helpful thing is that, you get to talk to a customer service person after < 15 minutes of hold time - so it's not the fastest but not the slowest.
Confusing user interface. It took them a long time to build / consolidate what was a usable interface when they inherited the business from Rackspace. They deleted all of my content despite being a customer for many years (almost 10 years), because I accidentally missed one month's payment (I had it on auto-pay and my card stopped working). Do not use them if you care about your website & digital presence.
Hosting websites for me and my clients. However, they have failed to do this by deleting my properties without notifying me that I'd lose 10 years of data.
I used to use and recommend clients to Liquidweb all the time. They had fantastic, local support techs that really knew what they were doing.
Over time they have turned into a soul-less company that has tightened their belt too many times and now relies on unethical billing practices to claw money from the few customers they have left. Their cancellation policies remind of Columbia House. Absolutely terrible.
They provide managed webhosting.
