The best thing is we are able to tag persons on the bug/user story and the other person gets email notification.
Cost-wise it is a bit costly i feel other than that it seems good to me
With Jira we track the user stories. The benefits we got were all teams we quick to work on the assigned work item since the immediate notification is sent.Yes, the business performance increased drastically
Without a doubt, Jira's best feature is the ability to customize it to your organization. Jira helps our company stay aligned on all projects and work in the pipeline, ensuring everyone is rowing in the same direction. Jira feels like a solid partner that can scale infinitely as our company grows, so we don't have to worry about 'outgrowing' it. Furthermore, Atlassian continues to innovate, making Jira more powerful, for example, the launch of their Team Central product.
We have two key pain points with Jira: 1 - The cost of Marketplace addons. If you want to use an application in the Jira marketplace to fill a need that Jira doesn't currently meet, the costs can be impossible to justify, leaving you between a rock and a hard place. For example, our entire company of 100 people uses Jira across all departments. If our product team of 5 people wants an add-on that costs $10/user, Jira will force us to pay for a license for all 100 users. As a result, we usually have to look for solutions outside of Jira, which is less than ideal. It would be game-changing if Jira could sort these licensing issues, and it severely impacts our ability to get the most out of Jira. 2 - Complexity. There is a steep learning curve as a Jira user and especially as a Jira admin. Once you have learned the ropes, life is excellent, but be prepared to have many frustrating and painful moments! Jira has made some strides to improve this problem, with the creation of 'team managed' projects and slimmed-down versions of Jira, such as Jira Work Management projects.
Before Jira, we had projects split across so many systems - from personal to-do lists, excel sheets, and other project management platforms. With Jira, everything is in one place, making our company more agile and productive.
One of the most important aspects is the facility to work collaboratively with multiple views of one or more projects, using tools that allow project managers to monitor and track the evaluation of progress, Gantt charts designed with great usability, with the respective line time tracking, drag-and-drop kanban boards, and interactive task lists to help teams engage in the way that works best for them, depending on their internal organizational procedures. Jira is very practical for issue management by allowing us to identify and document findings and resolve them through logs that help us carefully review and consider all relevant information. In this way, we can prevent the project team from falling behind and achieve project objectives, milestones, and deliverables on time.
Project management in Jira can be considered as a fairly complete platform with a wide capacity for effective project management, both in waterfall and agile methodologies, however, some currently existing alternatives may be considered as candidates for companies that cannot afford the costs associated with software to manage resources and projects, especially for small companies or startups. But if what we really need is a robust platform, with multiple integrations available and guaranteed support, Jira may be one of the best options today.
Executing projects in the time that we must do it is not an easy task, and it is essential to manage human and financial resources in any project, and through Jira, we can have a tool and a control panel (configurable) to manage, among others, time, cost and scope constraints, so project managers know when tasks have been completed and ensure that no more than allocated costs and resources are absorbed.
A rich feature set, many 3rd party integrations, a flexible pricing model and an easy get up and running path make Jira a great tool for many teams and organizations. Beyond satisfying many basic team communication, work organization and product development coordination Jira provides the tools needed through their robust api's for determined tinkers to roll up their sleeves and get the most out of the offering.
With all its strengths, I find I'm frustrated by one aspect of Jira or another on a regular basis. Recently, I experienced just how difficult it is to implement a core practice in Scrum: the Definition of "Done." While there are workaround methods of specifying and tracking a DoD, it definitely feels like a hack. Additionally, the permission structure can be daunting to administer. Similarly, the workflows represent a powerful functionality but can quickly become something that will blow your leg off if not tended and administered carefully but teams. The field, issue type and screen system is labyrinthine to navigate and understand. Support from Atlassian itself has been lackluster; I've never been able to get someone on the phone even when I'm experiencing extremely challenging and costly problems with the app, that is without paying a pretty penny for the upgraded support package. Thankfully, the latter delays have been rare.
We use Jira to house several product backlogs, implementation activities, helpdesk services and workflow disciplines. Reporting on our work is of some use, although we find difficulties using the core reporting offerings and will until we follow Scrum more closely.
The rich UI, Flexibility of in house and SAAS solutions, huge plugins, lots of integration options and many more. The ease of use and quick update features are wonderful. Being a web based tool, it gives a lot of rich UI and drag drop features.
the distributed pricing model. It can be better priced with bundles of plugins and such things.
The agile project management needs an enterprise tool. the collaboration of different ideas and discussions at one place to get more business value is the need of time. JIRA solves both these challenges very effectively.
Manage tasks, user stories, sprints, and epics very easily. Purchase the plan and go live in 5 minutes. In the marketplace many templates and integrations are available or all major tools used by developer teams.
Pricing is too high. If you are using the freemium version, when your usage reaches where the paid plan is required, you will find it too much costly and very hard to switch to other tools as well.
It helps to keep track of bugs, product feedback, and current development work. It is helping team members to collaborate with others and solve issues promptly.
Previously we had no way of creating and logging support tickets with our engineers for bugs and other day to day fixes with our software. But with JIRA, we can create detailed tickets which increases visibility between departments, and we know what stage a ticket is at.
Price - it is based on the number of users and for a large company like us, it can be very costly, so we may have to restrict users to save on the cost.
From a support point of view, it makes life a lot easier as we know where support tickets are and who is resolving them, and how fast it is being solved.
