The ease to create beautiful mobile and web apps is amazing
if you have Large datasets (50k+ records), glide is unable to handle that at this time
allowing us to create beautiful mobile apps internally in our organization and customer-facing applications with great ease
Ease of use and the wide scope of applications I can build. I am not a programmer but I've been able to build an internal app that we use every single day for our operations team.
I sometimes have to spend a lot of time rebuilding my google sheet file to make it work with glide, or to even break down the data so that it is easily understood by glide.
We needed a custom application and glide helped me build it by myself without having to pay thousands of dollars to developers and dealing with a headache from having to work with an outside team.
I love that I don't have to spend a ton of time getting a beautiful interface. The modules are each designed in a modular manner that once joined together to make an app, give a consistent, user-friendly, and professional looking user interface to your whole app. It's refreshing to not have to spend hours wrangling with CSS, etc.
The only thing I dislike about the software is that Glide pages are missing some of the essential modules afforded to the mobile glide apps - like a signature field. It would be handy to have parity of modules across the board on both platforms. The other thing is the slow sync times between Airtable and Glide. I hear it's because of an issue with Airtable's API, so I believe this is out of Glide's control. But a three minute update time between writing to a field and waiting for Airtable to trigger a record sync sometimes breaks the user-flow.
Tight integration with Airtable and also excellent template, if/then, and formula editors in the data sheet/spreadsheet that's integrated. I wish I'd found this sooner and I wouldn't even use Airtable. Data sheet is powerful, smart, intuitive, and FAST.
User experience comes out looking thought out, sharp, and unique, all without me needing to go into the backend myself
API is only availbable on their enterprise tier, and as of now they only integrate with Google Sheets, AirTable, and Excel. Wish they would release Salesforce functionality as well
We needed a tool for our in-house representatives to work out of which would be largely photo-based. Glide was a tremendous find!
It is very easy to use, user-friendly and cheap compared to other solutions. You still need technical knowledge to make it work, but it is common for all no-code solutions.
The front-end for the end user it is not very customizable, and the insights you can give to customers are very hard to use and just a pie chart and a bar chart.
It helps create small apps for my customers, which are quick to develop and solve perfectly their needs.
Love the ability to make it my own, glide has so many options and ways to customize what I'm doing. It's great for all of my needs. Haven't tried any other competitors, becuase I don't need to!
Downside is the time it takes to load when opening the app on my phone, sometimes it crashes, but I just restart the app and try again. Could be better, ya know?
Using it as my budgeting app, for personal usage, and my own financial tracking. Much easier than writing transactions in notes and then transferring to an excel
This service has made it possible for our company with almost no Dev experience to create a detailed customer app and employee app, that allows our customer journey to come to life. With almost no prior coding experience, I was able to learn the system through the incredible community, videos and more.
Almost nothing. The only thing is I would like to see a more robust chat feature. The chat currently is hard to make a one on one experience between different users. For support apps, this function is critical. Otherwise, It's working brilliantly and I hope to turn Glide coding into a career. I constantly am amazed by its capabilities and can't wait to see what they add next.
It's created our Customer journey and allowed us to give our customers control of their data. It has also allowed our employees to be able to connect with our customers one on one.
We used Google Sheets to store a lot of data about our event, like e.g. about speaker and keynotes. In the backend we used a lot of Google Forms and Zapier to manage information from different sources and then used Glide to display it to all attendees. Making changes in the data was super easy.
Unfortunately we had some performance issues when it came to bookings. Glide is working on improving performance and we will try to use the Glide internal storage engine for some data in the future to mitigate the issue.
We run an annual event, Bansko Nomad Fest, where we use Glide as our conference app. It has information about all sessions and activities for the participants and allows us to take reservations for activities where we can then check-in attendees later with a barcode or taking online payment e.g. for food ordering directly in the app is streamlining the experience and making it easier for us. Overall having this custom app tailored to all our requirements compared to using another event app solution is making a difference for us. And with Glide it was possible to build it much faster and cheaper than developing a "normal" app
The example templates make it easier to understand how to use Glide and accomplish the layouts you want.
Some of the help documentation/articles don't provide easy to follow step by step instructions. I imagine this is due to the flexibility of Glide.
We can create an app for free that is more accessible and easy to use for our client base than our website.
From prototype to new feature, glide helps get you there. Use Glide to wireframe ideas, to test out data logic, to identify needs through user testing, and use it for customers or as your best in-house tool
As Glide continues to grow it adds new features and capabilities, however it is not always clear what the roadmap or "end goal" is for Glide. As a customer and user it makes it hard to plan for your own tech plans and transfers with this ambiguity.
Glide allows us to create apps to showcase and provide improved user experience for our clients. We were able to get to market and launch products very easily, and also to evolve those products with little friction over time.
I love the instantaneous display of data from our databases. Using multiple sheets (Airtable, Sheets, Glide) makes creating powerful!
Limit of blocks or template usable. It's a shame not to be able to create more freely
Accessibility and ease of creation.
It is a very easy tool to use to quickly make fully functional and nice looking mobile apps. It's also great that the app that gets created can run in most any browser and such works on desktops and tablets.
There are some functions that are somewhat limiting. The Datagrid still needs the ability to link row clicks to other pages. And some components will not show if there is no data for that row. It would be nice to have the option to show the label and blank data anyway. However, they are adding new features all the time.
Quick development of mobile apps. Ability to extend the functionality of google sheets. Ease of development. Ability to deploy apps to users very quickly. Easy to make changes iteratively.
I have tried 3 previous no code platforms (Bubble, Appsheet and Filemaker) and I've found Glide to be a great combination of power and ease of use.
Some features are being added to allow more customization but in general there's always a trade off between power and ease of use. I haven't found much I dislike.
So far I've only built some simple inventory management apps but it's clean interface and ease of use is enjoyable. It's very fast to build with.
As someone with no app making experience, I found Glide very easy to use. The UI is intuitive, they have lots of templates for you to start from, and lots of customization options.
Even though they have a lot of options, I still haven't quite got my app to do exactly what I want it to do, although it is close. I imagine I would need to do custom programming to get what I really want though.
I needed a method of tracking my bonsai garden - what trees I have, where I got them and for how much, then note when major work was done on the trees. The app is much easier than tracking on paper, I can do it from my yard easily, and it allows me to really learn a lot more about each tree and how it responds to my actions.
How easy it is to build an app and publish it. Within a couple of weeks to months you have a completely working and published app
Sometimes there are some limitations in what is possible. But often with a diversion it can be achieved.
Namely price and time. It is fast to build and cheap to publish
Easy to build with and make a professional looking app
Its expensive if you want a private users to be able to login. If thats not a requirement then its fairly priced.
Quickly and easily launch an app using only a spreadsheet as a database
Easy to use and I am able to use existing google sheets to make a nice app
I wish button layout was more customizable
They are looking into push notifications for my team
Fast app development makes prototyping to end product experience more desireable.
Limited charts and custom JavaScript code. No push notifications.
3D print requests. Was trying to accept Print requests for my 3D printer and allow users to review request not yet full filled
build app very easily based on sheet google sheet or Excel even airtable. Eleaning curve is very short. UX is very good helping our clients to understand and be attracted to build tjeir own apps
Not yet offline is the main issue fro now. Most of our customers are using in factories and not with wifi connection. Main issue also about inspection checklist like iAuditor, not able to build easily in Glideapps
Mainly convert simple inspection, controls and other image or issues capturing. Our consultancy in quality management activities will be very benefiting from easy apps and collect data and ability to manage
Customization, Ease of Use, Clean Look!!
N/A. The only suggestion would be a payment link.
Glide provides me with an app that I can share with my wholesale customer in lieu of bulky line sheets.
