Adobe Commerce (formerly Magento) is a hosted and open-source product and is one of the biggest website builders today, with major blue-chip brands like Nike and Cisco among its roster of clients. The Adobe Commerce environment is also scalable, however, it does require some coding knowledge to maximize. The platform has a lot of customization options and offers trigger-based automated marketing features and automatic cross-selling and upselling features.

The magento system allows for full control over an entire back end of an online store. They way that you can add products and categories seamlessly with your payment gateway is fantastic.
The only let down is the very basic promotions section which does not allow for specific pricing rules such as buy 2 for £500 etc.
The Magento system has optimized the way our webstore works
Strong user community and ease of getting programmers that know the platform. This can really help for smaller groups that need to outsource their IT budget. The system is very flexible and a competent PHP/MySQL programmer can do just about anything. The multi-language capabilities are impressive. I have found some powerful offline administrative applications like Store Manager for Magento. The set up is a bit difficult but the benefits are worth it.
There are many, many configurable options so it can take some time to get used to things. It's also hard to find useful extensions that have a trial period to see if it's right for you. The system requires powerful hosting capabilities so a simple share hosting solution will not do. That's VERY important. Without proper hosting and configuration, Magento will be a dog. The Community Edition in particular benefits enormously from hosting that has APC and Varnish built in to speed things up.
Powerful ecommerce solution with low initial cost of entry. Have used this with small groups to build robust solutions that can be multi-language enabled.
The back end admin panel UI of Magento is a no brainer. Once you have learned the basics (I suggest taking a basic training course offered by Magento U) manipulating the front end website is effortless. Do you want multiple websites to track specific campaigns? Magento can do that. How about adding Email to a Friend, gift cards, PayPal payment options, or reward points? Flip the switch to On, and you're done. I have a basic knowledge of HTML coding, which helps with certain aspects of our Magento configuration (such as developing CMS pages), but I can implement many cool features with no coding necessary. There are multiple plugins that can be used to make Magento even more amazing, many of which are free. You can connect certain ESPs to Magento to send branded, targeted drip campaigns and triggered emails using your customer's purchasing and browsing behaviors. You can add social media widgets, create mobile versions of your site, develop customized themes, and so much more. I am in the marketing department, not IT, yet I was able to learn this system very quickly.
We have the Enterprise version of Magento, which is not cheap. When paying $20K per year for a platform, I expect a certain level of service. The Enterprise service level is "Gold", and the Enterprise Premium service level, is "Platinum". I understand that those customers are paying double what we are, but that shouldn't mean that all of our service requests and trouble tickets get ignored or responded to many days later. Magento's tech support team can come across as lackadaisical or condescending in their responses.
Our web traffic and ROI have increased considerably over the past two years. It will only improve as we start using more of the marketing features that Magento offers.
support of magento commerce is very good , code deployment , enterprises edition quicker than community, 24*7 phone support
pricing is high, compare to other platforms like shopify
their support will always help you if you stuck somewhere.
The options that it has and the multitude of it
That it blocks or does not process the payments correctly/ refunds
Pandora for business support/ billing subscriptions
Their top-class security and user friendly.
High pricing is one of their disadvantages but comparing the quality, it is not that unworth.
I am using this platform to accelerate my e-commerce business platform, and to date, it is doing great. It is a software that helps training easy
Magento have best product management features with order and multiple payment gateway compatible that lead to increase the sales. So I will prefer using Magento above other most commonly using Platforms like Woo-commerce.
Not mostly dislike, to run Magento you defiantly need Development skill but this is opportunity to learn.
With Magento, I can develop the most Professional E-Commerce store with just 10% effort as compared to language to build from scratch. The most admirable benefit of using Magento that I can develop same world most famous E-Commence platform with Magneto with just little investment.
The interface is silky smooth. We can access to customers account in one click
Tracking details updated for orders differ from the actual one
I deal with cart rule related things. The benefit is that it has a simple but infective interface to understand and to implement as well.
Has all the bells and whistles. Much better than WooCommerce. Lots of built in features, eliminating the need for plugins.
The only problem I have with it is that the development work is tricky, and requires a developer that knows what he's doing, and is Magento certified.
Integrations to third party warehouses, multiple sites in one shop.
The ability to make fast changes to products and content make it a great tool, and with this latest version, it is much easier to use for those transitioning from another system like WordPress or Drupal.
It can be cumbersome and slow if not optimized in caching and proper image optimization. Spacing between elements in Bluefoot needs to give better default options. Having to resort to negative pixel adjustment with padding seems counterintuitive.
Bluefoot has been by far the best UX addition to Magento. It's made WYSIWYG a reality while allowing legacy code to be added in very easily. Novice users can now update content without needing a lot of training.
our stores today are working on the magento platform, and in our opinion is the best virtual store, because in this platform we have a great SEO service, product customization, integrations with several other services thousands of plugins and modules, well optimized, fast and safe in every aspect that makes it the best store today
we currently work with versions 1.9 and 2.0 and in this issue we do not like the new version magento 2, we had problem in configuring modules
the solution found today is that all our stores work with magento running, and this has brought us security, better performances in the servers, quickness in executing the store, easy customization we made integrations with servers invoice generator through purchases and integration with payment methods everything online and fast
I like that this is free open source e-commerce software that i am able to install on my website. It makes selling products on my website easy, without having to spend an arm and a leg on it.
I dislike the learning curve that comes with magento, since it is a cms, it is quite hard to manage and set it up alone. I had to get a 3rd party to set it up for me.
With Magento, we were able to increase our revenue streams by adding an ecommerce store to our website. This allowed us to expand our business from not just services but to services and goods.
Magento provides robust, powerful support for a variety of needs that the common merchant would require. Multi-store management, solid SEO support, import/export product management, and caching for performance support.
Magento is heavy - very heavy. Before you can even consider using Magento you will need to have your hosting provider and dedicated server picked. In addition to that, Magento relies very heavily on XML documents to manage its settings. As a PHP developer, I find this reliance on XML a perplexing choice when data formats such as JSON are much less verbose, and as a result, smaller. Even YAML would be a better choice.
I was involved with a company that relied solely on its Magento-powered web presence. Due to the huge catalog of products we were able to leverage Magento’s stability and SEO features to support the business financially.
Like the diversity of magento, you can almost do everything you need within the cms and anything you need and be added through coding.
Slows down alot after alot of product input, larger hosting is need which adds the cost of getting up and running for larger sites.
Being a custom seat company, everything is custom, theme design, getting magento to work the best with your product. Benefits is magento is now one of the largest ecommerce cms and alot of help from developers that have faced the same problems.
- Magento is user-friendly. A simple back-end with intuitive navigation. - Community version is free. - Magento is robust and has flexible features. - The next-generation PHP7 code architecture allows for true customization. - The Magento's community provides very usefull features like the ability to manage multiple store fronts, multi-language and multi-currency support and is mobile and search engine friendly. - Magento own a large community of users who have developed many extensions and plugins.
- Magento is available in many versions. The community version of Magento is free, while the enterprise version of Magento is little expensive. - There is less developper than the others solution, then less plugin, less template, less everything. - Sometimes, it's difficult to Use.
It's a good e-commerce solution, not the best in my opinion.
We have a somewhat large catalog of products that can be hard to distinguish other than their specifications. Magento provides easily adjustable specifications (attributes) that can be used to help adjust in bulk or helpful for sorting and other website uses.
Search isn't as good as we would hope, cannot search CMS pages/blocks without purchasing an additional third-party tool. URL Rewrite can be a huge mess!
Created a great organized platform for our products on our main website.
