One of the most preferred payroll platforms on the web today, Gusto is a great tool for all-around HR management that can handle everything from automatic year-end tax form filing to new-hire form filing, and managing employee benefits. It easily integrates with numerous accounting and business tools, as well as collaboration platforms such as Asana and Autobooks. The platform is well known for its exceptional customer support and delivers great insights and reporting.

Very easy to use. Straight forward app.
There was nothing to dislike about Gusto. Company size increased and we switched providers.
Gusto worked well in tracking hours and expenses.
I liked that Gusto offered payroll perks like getting an advance on your paycheck. Gusto was also very user friendly and intuitive and I was easily able to find the information that I was looking for.
I didn't experience this personally, but from other coworkers I heard that there was some payroll error when people were trying out a function Gusto offered. It did get corrected, but people were confused.
Gusto was used by my company to help facilitate HR and payroll needs. It also helped to schedule time-off for other employees in the company.

I can't add the Gusto card to Apple Pay.
It helps me manage my personal information for work; it makes it easier to manage these types of things for myself.
I like the user-friendliness of the application. Everything I need can be easily found on the left hand menu bar and I also like the graphic design that is present.
There is not really anything that I dislike... the only thing I can think of perhaps is that some of the information seems redundant, like I can find it is several different places.
Gusto is solving for me the problem of being able to see my paystubs, input expenses to be reimbursed for, and see how much of my paycheck goes to taxes, other expenses, retirement contributions, etc.
Straightforward and easy to use on all levels. The support team is also great at answering any HR related questions.
I only wish I could connect it to my other "timesheet" service.
When I have HR related questions, the support team helps me to understand laws and regulations.
I like that we are able to seamlessly hire, onboard and pay employees and contractors from different states and countries! The customer service team is also very responsive.
I would say that there have been a couple small errors from their customer service team--forms not getting filed, no emails to explain what they're doing, etc.
I think the biggest problem has been around Gusto growing quickly in a short period of time. The issues they've made have been minor, but getting a response can take up to several days.

I think it needs work on the way approvals can happen. Personnel managers cannot approve expense reports or PTO without certain access that not all managers need

You don't expect payroll software to be fun and delightful to interact with...but Gusto is! Gusto does exactly what it is supposed to do, and it does it with a great personality.
I honestly can't think of a real downside! I feel like Gusto has thought of everything and I've never even encountered a glitch while using it on the employee side.
As an employee of a company that uses Gusto, I can only speak to that side of my experience. That said, Gusto has been a great change from paper checks, manual sick time tracking, and storing all of my pay records across random files on my computer!
Gusto makes it so easy to: have employees enter time worked, review and approve hours, run payroll, hire and fire employees, and run payroll reports. I will never switch to another payroll program. They are seriously that amazing!

Gusto is always looking to better their project and has great customer service via phone. Their website is incredibly user friendly and I never have issues showing a company how to run their own payroll or perform other HR duties within Gusto.
If you have to setup a new state with payroll account numbers, sometimes the state takes a while to send them to you and Gusto will put a "block" on your account. You need to call to get this block pushed out X days until the state finally gets back to you.
On-time payroll tax payments and filings, ease of use, accurate reporting, customization with benefits and deductions, ability to run off-cycle payrolls easily, accounting software and time tracking integrations.
Extremely user friendly platform. It is easy to navigate, access all information, and get around the site.

All paystubs, financial information, and team calendar tracking are through Gusto. It is the easiest financial platform I have used with a company before.
Gusto is easy to use as a manager to run payroll, view reports and stay compliant with government filings.
Occasionally have some confusion if needing to make any manual changes to payroll such as deductions or unpaid leave and have to manually check calculations to make sure the intended change has been input correctly.

If you don't have the support plan you will not get as good of help, worth the upgrade.
Easier payroll and HR management.
Gusto is super helpful for the small business owner that has a couple employees and does not have a need for an in-house or even out-sourced HR personnel. Gusto walks you through everything you need to be compliant and to run payroll easily. It was also helpful having the reports for the PPP loans.
We ran payroll on the 15th and last day of the month. Gusto would prompt us to run payroll ahead of time for those pay dates but we would not have our employee hours in by the end of the day so we had to run payroll manually. It still was very easy to run with the click of a button but we couldn't automate it as much as the platform allows.
Cost effective way to run payroll and be in compliance with all HR needs. Inexpensive and easy to use for small businesses with minimal employees. Easy to customize for however you want to set up payroll.
I like that the support team at Gusto is available to answer questions about the best way to use the software to process payroll and benefits.
I wish that they had more ability to file documents connected to employee profiles, for example PAFs.
We do not have an HR employee on staff and Gusto helps us stay organized and keep track of important employee and benefit information.
I can see and control where and how I'm paid as well as control my deductions super easily.
Different forms of Time off have preset labeling so its a bit confusing. For example, we get 3 floating holidays a year, but due to a limitation, it's called sick days.
