The ability to track time logged to jobs live and create employee utilixation reports to analyze productivity.
At the moment, we are just beginning to implement BigTime at our company, so thus far everything has been an improvement over what we had.

My company has been using BigTime since we started 9 years ago. As the we've grown and our needs have expanded, we've been very happy that BigTime continues to listen to requests and try to implement them in future updates. Al, our original account executive, is always very responsive when reaching out to him and Dave on their sales team is not aggressive, which I appreciate. Dave' does a great job at explaining the features and how they may work best for our company in a way that's easy to digest and understand. Also, my recent onboarding of their next product tier with Neil went very smoothly, and we're looking forward to taking advantage of these new features. Always great to work with their stellar team! Aside from their amazing team, the product itself is fantastic. As a small business we needed a platform to track all of our time, track our projects and staff's profitability, and integrate into our accounting software (Quickbooks Online). Very rarely have we had any issues with our services, and we've always had great support when reaching out with questions. Bigtime really has helped us take control of our projects' financial health.
Some desired features aren't available yet, or the way that we would like to use them, but most of the time we're reassured that those features are in the pipeline for future releases.
Our project fee tracking has tightened up so much since diving into the Reports feature which has been a great way to make sure we're being most efficient and billable.
It is easy to create customized reports. I can see the time entries in real-time, review and approve them. The client invoicing is a nice feature and I like that you can post it to Quickbooks online, all payments either if they come from QBO or if you post them in Big Time after you synch both systems, all details are recorded. The customer service is fast and friendly and they are always happy to help via chat or phone.
To have a much easier way to download an AR aging detail report. if you don't have accounting software, you'll have to create a customized report in Big Time.
They have helped me created a lot of customized reports which has speeded up the way we review invoices, time entries, and billed clients. Now, we have started using the customer portal and I think this is going to be extremely helpful for clients to have.

Ryan was professional and friendly. I am pretty new to the Big Time software and he assisted me through many questions. He demonstrated the process and allowed me to do the same as he observed through screen share to ensure I understood and was correctly performing the task.

I have been most impressed with the customer service. Working with Neil, our implementation specialist, has been a fantastic experience. Neil is very personable and knowleagable. Bringing time tracking, project management, and invoicing together into one system. I also love how the app allows you to customize everything!
Coming from a workflow that consisted of five or six different tools, I am finding it hard to say what I have disliked at this point. If I had to pick one thing, I wish it allowed more file formats when uploading the logo.
Our biggest problem was wasted time. IT took me almost a full week each month to gather invoicing data across all our different tools. Lots of copying and pasting lead to a number of embarrassing invoicing mishaps. Nothing worse than a customer asking you to update your invoice. BigTime has taken all of our manual processes and put it into one centralized spot where time keeping, expenses, and invoicing can all be done together.

We love how BigTime automates a lot of project stats that we were manually tracking using SharePoint and Excel in the past. The Utilization dashboard has been very useful in determining the available capacity of our engineers and when we need to grow the team.
It would be nice if you could customize the theme of the GUI, but it's not a deal breaker. Additionally, the ability to automate reports and have them emailed out would save even more time.
We are automating Profit & Loss reports that we had to manually do in the past across multiple applications and portals. We are also realizing the true billability of our engineers to properly determine their workloads and utilization. Finally, the customizability of the reports has also allowed us to track technology trends and project durations easily to optimize our service delivery and increase profit margins.
It is giving us incredible insight into our business that we didn't have before with the tracking and reporting capabilities.
They are growing rapidly and with that comes some difficulty getting support when starting up.

The need for a phase to submit things like per diem and mileage, might just be me, but there are times I am contracting out and don't have a "phase" to associate with the overall project.

Our firm explored a wide number of PSA software options for our consulting engineering business and found the BigTime solution to be a perfect fit for our team. The tools are relevant, rapid to implement and well thought out for firms looking to better manage projects, tasks and financials.
The only item we miss is having some of the functionality we enjoyed with ASANA for managing some of the small tasks and back and forth communications for small items.
Better ability to see the work ahead of us as a team. The scheduling functionality and report give us much better insight on what and who needs to ramp up based on the work we sell. In addition, BigTime takes over our time tracking and invoicing software that were previously handled with separate software.
It is very intuitive and user-friendly. It can link to Quickbooks which is very helpful. The reporting is also a nice feature. This allows us to report our realization, efficiency and profitability. After watching a tutorial video, we have a much better grasp on the overall website and its unique functions. The support team is readily available and there are plenty of sources in the knowledgebase.
The timer could be better functionally. If it was in its own pop-up or more precise, that would increase our accuracy. Right now, it is difficult to remember to reset time. Better labels for report buidling would be helpful. Most of the labels sound the same (i.e. total realization vs total realization ($)). To those with little experience in report-building, it can be overwhelming. Since the application overall has such large capacity, it can be hard to tell where to start in setting up the system.
BigTime runs all of our payroll, invoices, and payments. It's user-friendly qualities have saved our company a lot of time. Again, the report building allows us to take advantage of the other data already in the system from other services. While making our business plan, we used many reports built off of BigTime. The reports can be used for paperwork like business plans or simply financial reports to know where your company stands. Overall, BigTime has helped our business understand and comprehend what is making us money and losing us money.
I think it is a very detailed program with many opportunities to help a company grow and stay organized.
Not much to dislike about the program. The only thing that could be added is a vehicle tracking component.

None that I can think of. So far, the service is great. The software is great. I enjoy working using BigTime and it definitely had an impact on our client's business.

I like the tools that are inclued with the software. I was able to discontinue several apps I was using since they were already included in the software.

BigTime is intuitive and simple to use. The functionality is simple clicks and enables copying.
What I like least about BigTime is the find it yourself learning. It would be easier for step by step instructions.
