Atom Pricing Overview

Atom is my favorite text editor, it is highly customizable and modular, as you can install themes and packages to make it how you want. I added an autocompletition and a syntax checker plug-in, and this text editor now almost feels like an IDE. I enjoy the potential and the frequent updates, every time some bugs are corrected and the software becomes faster. Also, it is completely free.

The only two things I dislike about Atom are that installing many plug-ins and themes makes the startup slower. Atom will then run fast, it won't be affected by the amount of plug-ins, just the startup will take longer. Also, editing big files and many lines together with the multi-line feature is slower than Sublime Text, which is the main competitor in my opinion.

Atom is a great tool that simplifies development. It allows teams to work with the same "IDE", but everyone can work with different languages and still get help from the syntax checker, everyone can chose the favorite look and feel, and I can notice an improvement in code quality in lower times.

Each part of the ATOM editor can be customized that in itself is a big plus. As a programmer working with editors over the years each one I would want to customize more and more to meet my needs and wants. ATOM seems to have it all available. It also looks great out of the box

The hungry resources it takes to work with. ATOM takes up more resources than i'd like but it feels like that is slowly improving. But to be fair my home machine can use a few more gigs of memory. Though I do wish it was faster overall.

Full stack development from front end to back it's my go to editor. I love the linters that are easily added and configured and auto completion along with all the short cuts and again the look and feel of the editor is great.

- One of the highlighted features I'm talking about is Git and Github. I say they are highlighted because even though most text editors have git or version controlling software of some sort, they do not give this feature as much importance as atom does. Atom literally has tab where you can visualize and run Git operations without ever having to write a single line of code. This in effect also makes collaboration in a team much easier. - Atom, in staying true to one of its developers' goals, has maintained a certain degree of simplicity enough that it can be easily adopted by beginner developers. At the same time, it has not lost most of its core features so much so that experienced developers will enjoy using it without feeling like very important features are missing.

Because it is still relatively new, Atom is still missing some features that most of the editors have implemented over the years of their existence. Some of these features include multi-cursor select which s something which most developers usually find very helpful. Atom can also get slow at times to start up and it uses up a bit too much RAM. This can make it buggy to an extent and hard to work with.

I use Atom for my javascript projects especially when working on sever-side javascript. I find that working with it like this has a certain native feel to it and I just enjoy that.

Finally an editor that does not look like a very old UI! It's design is very simple and clear it really looks amazing by default. - We used it for mostly for java but it support HTML, PHP, JS, C++ ... - Autocomplete function - Customizable not just the look and feel but you can write your own plugins - Huge community that supports atom with plugins, code improvements and helping each other - Free and open source - Linux support (i specially value this because i am a linux user) - Developed by github

It consumes a too much RAM compared to other editos and this can be a problem if you have 4 - 8 Gb and you have other applications running in background such a browser, ide, music ...

Sometimes we need to fix some bug or correct something on our code but we do not need to debug or any advanced features so we do it with atom since is faster than open our IDE and wait until it loads everything, check the whole project ...

Atom is one of the best free text editors. It supports almost all programming languages. It is available at no cost to the developers; hence, it benefits them financially. Its auto-complete feature is one of the best among all the text editors I have used.

It takes a little longer than other text editors to boot. When working on large projects, it feels a bit laggy to use. It does not have a lot of plugins available.

I primarily use Atom as a text editor for Python language. As it is a free IDE, it benefits financially. Also, due to its excellent auto-completion feature, it has increased by efficiency very much.

it is completely free so you no need to worry about pricing. It is developed by GitHub, so you can easily publish your code into GitHub. we can install third-party packages to customize its features and looks. It is a great selection for a data science project, good consistency for R and Python programming languages.it also support other languages like Java, JavaScript, JSON, SQL. Atom has default packages to syntax highlighting for these languages, you no need to install any other package. It has an active huge community, so if you have any dought and issue you can simply post it to the community and you will get a quick response. I is best for small and mediam size projects.

I could not found it very suitable for large and dynamic projects. I feel it is little slowler than other text editors.

I develop a business solution for Data analysis.there are several financial reports which needs to be published every week. changes are very frequent in these reports to make several changes into these files was very for me. I developed these reports in a python programming language with the help of Atom text editor. I wrote my complete code in Atom. it is very easy to navigate to project hierarchy and management. also very easy to execute different report directly from Atom.

Easy to use, Sublime-text compatible key shortcuts, great support of the web-related technologies and languages (JS, HTML, CSS) right from the box. Open Source with great and vibrant community with responsive support via forums and github discussions. Lots of custom packages, which are up to date for a 95% of time. Easy to hack and write new plugins. Smooth learning curve. Awesome look and feel. Very good GNU/Linux support.

This code editor still have some performance issues. Load time is not great on low level hardware. Big files could be an issue. Though, the first stable version made a big step into decreasing above mentioned. Minor problem -- there are lots of plugins with fuzzy functionality, sometimes duplicates. But it's not a big problem, because editor infrastructure has some kind of rating system.

This is my most used code editor right now. I'm writing ruby/js/css/html and other source code here. Despite the fact that this editor is free and open source, I've got better support compared to Sublime text and Rubymine (The last one I'm using time to time for better ruby debugging tools). Also Atom editor is free (free as beer in this case). Compared for commercial IDEs, which could cost thousands of dollars a year for the small team, it is a big plus for Atom editor.

I love the UI, and somehow it always feels very welcoming and accessible to get used to.

Sometimes, it crashes on my system, and it would be beneficial if it were a little faster with plugins support.

I have been using Atom for full-stack development with Django and currently using it for backend development with Golang.
