I like above all the responsiveness of the support, which is essential when offering this kind of service. In addition, the management console is straightforward to use and all tools are easy to deploy.
There's nothing I honestly don't like. Everything is explained clearly and there is no low blow in billing.
Being French, I like it when my data is hosted in my country. The different datacenters that Scaleway offers were able to satisfy my request. In addition, the prices are reasonable, which is a plus.
It's all European. You get what you need in a simple but efficient manner. You don't need to go through weird setups with all kinds of options you don't need, but the options you need are there.
There are a few more exotic features that I have missed, but they are being implemented piece by piece.
Hosting our server infrastructure.
I needed a macOS desktop system. Scaleways provided it perfectly smooth, with extremely user/customer friendly conditions despite Apple's complex constraints on its products.
A minor part, with no effect on the overall top experience, is the somehow complex user interface of the web page/dashboard of Scaleways. The user interface could be improved to give a better service overview.
For me, it was the need for timely short access to a macOS desktop system. The quick service shouldn't be expensive, and Scaleways provides an immensely customer-friendly condition where only the real usage time is charged.
- Simple and crystal clear web console (and Magic Link !) - Free control plane on Kubernetes product (Kapsule) - Terraform support - Helpful support, availability of staff and community via Slack - Regular new products (and betas) - Sustainable data centers - Some low-cost options for developers - Managed database and Redis
- s3 (Object storage) and Docker Image management are sometimes under heavy load - serverless services are not always working properly - missing private subnets for Kubernetes nodes
An excellent European provider with corrects prices and an incredible community on slack. Managed services are enough to 90% of my needs and Kapsule (Kubernetes) is a terrific product. They also open the track to multi-cloud with an multi-cloud offer on their managed Load Balancer
Easy install, easy configuration + netw.
Custom tunnel is the only choice for private network with Dedibox Instances.
Ultra quick deployment for short game tournaments running into Docker containers.
Simple yet effective Cloud service provider.
Object storage is slow at times. Documentations could have been better.
Structured IaaS. Faster resonsiveness. More reliable. Instances with more computational power at less price.
We manage several cloud architectures via several providers. Scaleway is our preferred provider, the rates are correct, the availability is exemplary and the management back-office is very easy to use. We recommend Scaleway for the implementation of Cloud architectures.
We observed some bugs when using the back office, but nothing significant. Another disadvantage is that upgrading a Compute Instance machine is not very easy compared to other cloud providers.
To have a reliable Cloud provider based in France to meet the data storage requirements of our customers, all at an affordable price. The availability of tools meets our customers' needs.
1} It is cost-effective. 2} It provides free archive and restore capabilities. 3} It is compatible with S3 tools and come with an unlimited data storage capacity that is the same as the object storage. 4} It is best to store large media files that are not accessed frequently. 5} It is also a great place to store data that needs to be retained by law enforcement to comply with regulatory requirements such as GDPR.
1} You have to change the files' Storage Class from Glacier to Standard, before you can get the files. 2} Sometimes A lot of files fail to restore. 3} There is no proper customer support.
It is helping me to upload my business documentations, photos, videos, and all types of personal informations. I can store a large media files that are not accessed frequently.
Very competitive prices for high CPU load servers (they call it "Baremetal" instances). A modern and simple interface is very nice for an eye.
Not many regions (currently only 2 and both in Europe). Of course, it would be cool to add features as some of its competitors have: load balancers, even more, OS, but for me, it is not that critical.
Getting instances with a lot of computational power without overpaying for unneeded stuff (like disk space etc.).
Cheap dedicated server with good specs. Predictable and constant performances without noisy neighbours.
They have no redundancy, no RAID my data could fail anytime.
Controlled hosting for my few customers websites.
Scaleway is a provider of servers in the cloud with a variety of impressive options, and their prices are in my opinion the best in the market. * The services are billed in hours, which allows you to experience the platform at a reduced cost, as they only charge for the services used. * Does not have Setup Fees or Termination Fees. * They have cloud servers with ARM processors of 32 and 64 bits, with Intel 64 bits (both Atom and Xeon D), with capacities from 1 core to 64 cores for ARMv8 and 12 cores for Xeon D. * They feature a variety of disk images with most of the most popular Linux flavors. * All servers have SSDs, which can be increased in steps of 50GB. * Support for IPv6 on all cloud servers. * Backup option and snapshots * Bandwidth from 100Mbit up to 5Gbits. * A management console recently renewed, with outstanding ease of use. * Its services can also be managed via API, which allows extreme automation. * The services provided tends to be quite stable.
Apparently the Scaleway prices are very competitive because they separated the support level of the services provided, that is, if you want better support you must pay for it, however this does not mean that you do not have support from them, there is a plan BASIC support that is free, but your answer leaves much to be desired if the servers you manage are of critical availability. * Being in the BASIC support plan may be inappropriate depending on the service availability you require. * The support service only works during office hours (time zone of France) * There is a strange limit to connect up to 15 storages of up to 150GB (each) to the cloud servers. * There is no possibility to upload a disk image with a Linux flavor different from what was supplied.
Scaleway represented a possibility to deploy an infrastructure in the cloud, quickly, versatile, fairly stable, sufficiently secure, at a very competitive cost. Although we feel that your support is not the fastest on some occasions, and we have detected that very occasionally problems occur in the deployment of some of their technologies, adding the pros and cons, we decided to count them as a provider of cloud services. We currently use your services for more than 66% of our entire operation, and we do not take it 100% because of a security policy that mandates not having all services with a single provider.
Scaleway is a alternative cloud provider to the obvious ones.
Does not integrate well with most tool which need to integrate with a cloud provider
Scaleway is our cloud provider
The vast selection offering for cloud and Virtual machine solutions allows you to scale up and down with ease, low latency and fast connectivity from their European data centers, and the ability to load balance between data centers
The recent hike in pricing on their VPS platform with the removal of the monthly price cap (this is removing the ease of mind of non-standard billing at the end of the month) and that their dedicated platform was transferred over to their sister company, sometimes slow/useless support
faster response times, more reliable uptime, ease of use if you are already familiar with their back-end platform, community documentation is available on the web, but local documentation needs improvement
The interface is more straightforward than AWS, OVH and others, yet it has all the basic things I needed. Running a Docker container is also very cheap.
Many features still under development, same for the documentation
I use a S3 instance for my media, and also deploy many Docker containers for smaller tasks
Good IaaS Services Pricing is fair and balanced Full European Cloud Provider Simple UI Good integration into Standard Tools No Vendor-lockin A lot new products in a short time
Some bugs in the console sometimes Object Storage is sometimes slow Standard Security features where developed quite late Support could be better
Full European Cloud Provider No hassle with GDPR Good and structered IaaS offer Balanced prices for resources Perfect Kubernetes Kosmos Multicloud offer
Extremely cheap and fast way to deploy servers.
User interface is slow and clumsy. There is definitely some space for improvement.
From time to time we need to test a new script for which we deploy a new server. Scaleway is very easy-to-use and allows us to specify region, size and speed of the server. It takes less than 3 minutes to start working on a newly-deployed server.
The interface that control scaleway and the unmetered bandwidth.
Cannot search on their control panel. Nothing else
Scaleway solved our high bandwidth price issue with other ISP and gave us great value to run our business.
